DESTINATION MILODON CAVE

One of the unmissable walks of Patagonia is to visit this archaeological site that was declared a historical Natural Monument. It is a large cave of more than 200 meters deep, 80 wide and 30 high, where more than 10,000 years ago large extinct animals were housed in it, such as the milodon or saber-toothed tiger and probably was the scene of hunting for the first inhabitants of Patagonia. You can walk to a viewpoint located on the roof of the cave, from where it is possible to obtain spectacular panoramic views of the Eberhard fjord and its channels, as well as the surrounding mountains and glaciers. The trail allows walking of low difficulty of 2.5 to 3 hours.

It is located 26 kilometers north of Puerto Natales. Multiple tourism agencies offer this tour. You can also take a taxi, do it by bicycle or lease a vehicle in the city.
